Epism (Ep-ism, pronounced "ep" as in "epic" with "ism") is not a religion. It is a philosophy for successful living. It has nothing to do with religious faith. Epism is based on commonsense, knowledge and logic from studying the "Epic" story of humankind on this earth. The "ep" in Epism is a derivative of this "ep-ic" story.
An Epist ("ep-ist") is simply someone who believes the Twelve Principles of Epism have value and strive to implement them in their every day lives. There are no tests to take, no dues to pay, no "ruling group" to excommunicate, disfellowship or shun Epists who fail to successfully implement the principles.
However, many people who are religious, also consider themselves "Epists." For instance, a person who is Catholic, might refer to themselves as a "Catholic/Epist." Members of other religions might refer to themselves as "Protestant/Epists," or "Hindu/Epists," or "Muslim/Epists," etc.
Individuals who do not have any religious affiliation might refer to themselves simply as "Epists" or possibly "Atheist/Epists" or "Agnostic/Epists."
When two Epists of differing faiths meet and learn the other is also an Epist, they IMMEDIATELY KNOW several very important facts. First and foremost that they each RESPECT the rights of the other to believe whatever they choose. They also know there is respect for the other's gender and race. They know the other is at least striving to implement each of the principles and that goes a long way towards encouraging an honest exchange.
Epism is not affiliated with any political party. There are "Democrat/Epists," "Republican/Epists" and "Independent/Epists," etc. There will likely be "Epists" in just about every political party in the world.
